In 2008, after a summer of time wasters, we took our house off the market. We had decided to sell it at precisely the wrong moment - as the recession broke. So here we are, many tins of paint and a new bathroom later, and today it is on the market. No photos or description yet and no board, but the energy assessor has been and we have had our first viewing. Mrs L was pleasant but has not sold hers, so a little pointless. The house was as spick and span as we could get it, yet the defects seem to shout out. Him Indoors has been decorating the hall and stairs for centuries it seems. With four storeys that is a lot of decorating. A new carpet is coming on Monday for the stairs and the front door will be painted. We could just carry on decorating, but then we would never get to move. If and when it sells we want a smaller house, bigger garden. I keep looking on +Rightmove but it is no good finding something wonderful with ours unsold. Son does not want to move at all.
I must try not to plan the next garden.
